
HTGF-backed Biametrics raises €3.1m series-A
Tübingen-based biosensor technology developer Biametrics has raised €3.1m from High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), LBBW Venture and other investors.
MBG Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft BW, KfW Bankengruppe and Seedfonds BW also participated in the round.
Biametrics plans to take its product on the international market following the fresh funding, which is also expected to facilitate the development of the company's production and sales activities.
KfW's previous investment was also in the biotechnology sector. In May 2015, the investor took part in the €6.2m series-A of Omeicos Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company. HTGF also participated in the round.

In September 2010, HTGF led a €600,000 early-stage round for Biametrics alongside Seedfonds.

Founded in 2010, Biametrics develops and produces label-free analysis devices for use in clinical diagnostics in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. Based in Tübingen, Germany, the firm was formed as a spin-off from the University of Tübingen.

Martin Pfister is senior investment manager at HTGF. Florian Pröll and Günther Proll are the founders of Biametrics.
