High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has invested in makerist, an online tutorial platform for arts and crafts.
HTGF's seed investment adds to previous financial support received from TA Ventures.
The fresh capital will be used to increase the production of video tutorials and expand the company's customer base.
According to the Allensbach Institute and Initiative Hadarbeit, more than 29 million Germans are interested in handicrafts, while the market for craft materials is worth $1bn.
