
HTGF backs fodjan
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has invested around €500,000 into agricultural feeding software fodjan.
The fresh capital will be used to develop fodjan's product and to improve its distribution services.
HTGF stated it invested because it sees a gap in the market in the farm tech space, particularly in the area of modern feeding management. It usually invests €500,000 initially and can invest up to €2m per portfolio company in total.
In November, Target Partners invested €2.1m into Berlin-based Trecker, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that manages agricultural machinery and employees.
Company
Launched in September 2014 in Dresden, fodjan is an intelligent livestock feeding programme that aims to combine cost efficiency with animal wellbeing. The company underwent a three-year development phase and several pilot projects.
The SaaS model accounts for feed inventories and the needs of the herd, as well as suggesting rationing solutions.
