Alter leads €15m round for InnovaFeed
French VC firm Alter Equity has led a €15m funding round for InnovaFeed, a French biotech company producing insect-based protein for the feed industry.
Additional backers in the round include early-stage VC firm Finovam Gestion, IRD Group's investment fund Nord Création, and Siparex-managed fund Nord France Primeur, as well as several entrepreneurs.
With the fresh capital, InnovaFeed intends to build a second production facility to accelerate its commercial capacities.
Alter Equity invested in the company via its Alter Equity 3P fund, which held a final close on €41.5m in January 2013.
