
Ahlström Capital acquires Destia for €148m
Ahlström Capital has acquired Destia, a Finnish state-owned infrastructure and construction services company, for €148m.
The deal sees the GP acquire 100% of Destia, which has an enterprise value of €130m. It will also involve a capital repayment of €42m to the state of Finland.
Ahlström stated that it will focus on growth opportunities in train track maintenance, rock and mine construction, and energy construction.
The deal will be completed after it receives approval from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.

Vantaa-based Destia is an infrastructure and construction services company focusing on the design and maintenance of transport routes. The company span out from the Finnish Road Enterprise in 2008. It has a headcount of around 1,500 and in 2013 had a turnover of €490m.

Panu Routila is president and CEO of Ahlström. Hannu Leinonen is CEO of Destia.
