Gestión de Capital Riesgo backs Kondia Me Taldea
Gestión de Capital Riesgo del País Vasco (GCRPV), the venture arm of the Basque Country government, has injected €750,000 into machine tools manufacturer Kondia Me Taldea in exchange for a 22.5% stake.
Investment was made through the Ezten vehicle and will support the integration of manufacturing company Akoin, recently-acquired as part of a buy-and-build strategy.
Company
Founded in 1952 and based in Guipúzcoa, Kondia manufactures and distributes machine tools to international clients in many sectors including automobile and aeronautic. Investment will allow the company to focus on business and technological development and maintain the jobs of 20 new members of staff taken on after the takeover of Akoin. Once Akoin is fully integrated, Kondia will have 90 members of staff and an approximate turnover of €11.8m.
