Ambar injects €1.1m into ProtOn
Ambar Venture Capital has invested €1.1m in Spanish online security company Protección On-Line (ProtOn).
The investment will allow the firm to hire a development team.
Ambar invests €500,000-5m in companies with a focus on technology within ICT and ICT applications, energy management and transport.
Previous funding
Ambar provided seed funding for ProtOn in 2011.
Company
Founded in 2011 and based in Madrid, ProtOn is an information security company that allows users to protect the files they share. Users are able to decide and track who, how and when their files are accessed.
The firm plans to attract more than 100,000 users in Spain by the end of 2012 and aims to report a €2m turnover the following year. ProtOn currently employs 12 members of staff.
