
CVC Capital to take 30% slice of Merlin
CVC Capital Partners is on the verge of closing a deal to buy a 30% share in Merlin Entertainments, the UK-based theme park group.
The investor will take on a minority share from Merlin's current shareholders, which include Blackstone.
Established in 1999, as the result of a Vardon Attractions buyout, Merlin Entertainments Group currently has 60 parks and attractions in 13 countries. Its portfolio of companies includes the London Eye, Madame Tussauds and Legoland.
The transaction will result in CVC, Blackstone and KIRKBI all holding equal, 30% shares in the company.
