
Balderton leads $7.5m round for Appear Here
Balderton Capital has led a $7.5m round for Appear Here, a UK-based online marketplace connecting retailers with landlords.
The company will use the fresh capital to expand internationally and invest in its customer services activities.
Existing backers MMC Ventures, Forward Investment Partners and Meyer Bergman also took part in the round.
The VCs stated they were attracted by Appear Here's technology and the management team's understanding of the market.
Previous funding
In November 2013, Appear Here raised £1m from Howzat Partners, MMC, Forward, Playfair Capital, Ballpark Ventures and Miroma Ventures.
Company
Founded in 2012 and headquartered in London, Appear Here is an online booking platform for property companies leasing short-term retail spaces. The business has processed 500 lettings in the past 18 months and has around 600 properties available to hire within the UK. Its clients include Transport for London, British Land Securities and Hammerson, while the company has also worked with brands including Google, Moleskine and Diageo.
