Episode 1 leads $1.1m round for SimplyCook
Episode 1 Ventures has led a $1.1m round for SimplyCook, a London-based provider of cooking recipes and ingredient kits.
The fresh capital will enable SimplyCook to invest in marketing activity. It will also fund data analysis from its online platform, with the intent to create personalised products to cater for individual customers.
The investment is Episode 1's third so far this year – the VC led a £1.5m round for UK-based estate agent eMoov and joined Notion Capital in a $2m seed round for Triptease.
SimplyCook also marks the latest in an emerging trend for food tech investments - you can read our analysis of the growth in VC appetite for the sector here.
