Pantheon, ICG appoint new ESG heads
Pantheon Ventures and ICG have both hired new global ESG leads as GPs continue to increase attention to responsible investing.
Eimear Palmer has joined Pantheon Ventures, a London-based GP, as partner and global head of ESG after a four-year stint leading responsible investing at ICG.
For Pantheon, the new role sits within the investment function and includes leadership of a cross-functional ESG committee.
Eimear has also worked at Carlyle, where she implemented an enhanced ESG framework for the GP's European team.
Elsa Palanza is joining ICG as managing director and global head of sustainability and ESG after four years in the same role at Barclays.
Eimear will join Pantheon in August while Palanza will join ICG in September.
The hires mark narrowing GP focus on ESG investing. Just this month Argos Wityu appointed a head of ESG, with the mandate to work both internally and on portfolio companies as well as helping to guide investments.
Aztec, General Atlantic and Inflexion have all also hired ESG heads this year.
