
Investors in €50m series-C for Dynacure
A number of investors have participated in a €50m series-C funding round for biotechnology company Dynacure.
The round was led by Perceptive Advisors, joined by new investors BPI France Large Venture and funds managed by Tekla Capital Management. Existing investors Andera Partners, Fonds Biothérapies Innovantes et Maladies Rares funds, Kurma Partners and Pontifax also participated.
Henry Skinner, senior vice-president of Tekla, will join the Dynacure board of directors.
Proceeds from the financing will be used to advance Dynacure's lead program, DYN101, through an ongoing phase-I/II clinical trial in adults, expand the DYN101 clinical programme to include treatment of paediatric patients, and to continue to grow the company and its pipeline.

In July 2018, Andera led a €47m financing round, joined by Pontifax, Idinvest Partners and existing backers Kurma and BPI France.

Founded in 2016, Dynacure was formed as a spin-out from the Institute of Genetic and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) in collaboration with Kurma, Conectus and Ionis Pharmaceutical.
Headquartered in Strasbourg, Dynacure is a clinical-stage drug development company focused on the development of drugs for the treatment of centronuclear myopathies (CNM). CNMs are serious, rare, life-threatening disorders that affect skeletal muscles from birth. The condition affects 4,000-5,000 patients in the European Union, the US, Japan and Australia.
