
Sunstone and Upfront inject $2.65m into Seriously
Sunstone Capital and US-based Upfront Ventures, have led a $2.65m second seed round for Seriously, a free-to-play mobile games company based in Helsinki.
The funding, which brings the total amount raised by Seriously to $5m, will enable the company to expand its team and invest in content development.
In November 2013, Upfront led an initial seed round of funding totaling $2.35m, with support from Sunstone, according to unquote" data.
The latest deal comes hot on the heels of Oxford Capital's $5m investment in UK-based free-to-play company Outplay.
Company
Based in Helsinki and Los Angeles, Seriously is a free-to-play mobile games developer with plans to release its first title in the summer of 2014. The company develops games for the Apple iOS and Android operating systems.
Seriously recently made two appointments, hiring Philip Hickey as vice president of marketing and communications and Petri Räsänen as game artist.

Andrew Stalbow is CEO of Seriously and Petri Järvilehto is the company's chief creative officer. Jimmy Fussing Nielsen is the managing partner for Sunstone's technology ventures team.
