Private equity-backed Eco Eridania bolts on three
Waste management firm Eco Eridania, backed by Fondo Italiano di Investimento, has acquired three companies: Paderno Energia, Elettrochimica Carrara and Technoplus, the waste management arm of Ghi.be.ca.
The bolt-ons were funded through a fresh capital injection of around €3.7m from Eco Eridania's existing backers Fondo Italiano di Investimento and Xenon Private Equity.
Xenon invested through the Xenon Private Equity V fund, which hit its €150m hard-cap in 2009.
The acquisition follows Eco Eridania's bolt-on of Team Ambiente in December 2012, funded through a €14.3m capital commitment from Fondo Italiano and Xenon, which entered the company's shareholding at that time.
Fondo Italiano di Investimento first backed Eco Eridania in 2011 with an equity injection of €10m.

Paderno Energia is based in Pavia and operates a plant for the disposal of hazardous and other waste. The firm sells the electricity it generates through the combustion of waste and has a turnover of around €2m.
