Caixa et al. invest €400,000 in Alpify
Caixa Capital Risc has taken part in a €400,000 round for Alpify, a GPS tracking app for skiers and mountaineers in emergencies, alongside a group of business angels.
The funding will be used to fund international expansion, including implementation of a recent agreement to launch the service in Caracas, Venezuela.
Capital for the transaction was drawn from Caixa Capital TIC II, a vehicle focusing on digital technology businesses in the telecommunications, software, internet, e-commerce, gaming and entertainment sectors.
In August, the VC's portfolio company vLex, an online legal research platform, also expanded into South America with the acquisition of Argentine software-as-a-service firm Quolaw.
